Hi ,Â
Â
We love when we launch a new service or product and immediately our filmmakers give us great feedback. This is the case with our new Professional Comparable Films service.Â
Â
We've always received feedback from our filmmakers letting us know how tedious the process of choosing comparable films to use to generate financial projections was. It was boring and tedious,  took forever and often involved paying for a subscription service, like IMDB Pro. Everyone hated it (including us!).Â
Â
Â
For filmmakers who want to do their own financial and investor projections, we just eliminated at least 20 hours of the tedious work of finding comparable indie films to yours. The DB is a custom list of films (over 200 recent films) from the-numbers.com, the industry's most well-known movie statistics folks. Nash Info Services are the the gurus behind the-numbers.com.Â
Â
The DB was so helpful, we then decided to partner with Nash Info Services to offer next-level financial projections where they do them FOR you. We negotiated a great rate with Nash because you do the work of choosing your films from our proprietary DB. This way, Nash gets a pre-chosen list of 10 films from you, they know they already have all the stats in their database (because you're already choosing from their list) and in less than 2 weeks you have uber-professional and branded
financial projections.
Â
Once again, you can purchase the projections separately or they can be included with one of our filmmakers bundles, which also includes our Business Plan Template, Investor Pitch Deck, Investor Agreement, the option of your PPM and much more.Â
Â
The most valuable part of these Done-For-You comparable films reports is you have a third party doing them, which gives you TONS of street cred with your investors.Â
Â
If you purchase our Gold + Financial Projections Filmmaker Bundle ($599), almost 80% of your Business Plan will already be done for you. It's literally fill-in-the-blanks after that - add your management bios, synopsis of your film, your distribution strategy and target market, and your done. Anyone else would charge you $4K for this type of work. We offer it for $599 (or $999 if you also want to eliminate $10K in legal fees and use our PPM template).Â
Financial Projections FAQs:Â
Â
1) Is this just for one set of comps, or is it a one or two year service where I could run for my multiple projects as many times as I want?
Â
Answer: This is for 1 time comps on 1 film, using 10 films as comparison from our DB, similar to yours in terms of budget of genre. You choose the films from our list of over 200 films, we run the financial analysis and Investor ROI for you.Â
Â
2) Do you combine your movie sales/projections analysis with the PPM package?Â
Â
Answer: Yes, everything we offer is included in our new for 2021
Platinum Filmmaker Bundle. It's a high ticket item, but about $20K cheaper than trying to do it all on your own.Â
Â
3) What’s the difference between the Indie Film Database and Financial Projections?Â
Â
Answer: The DB is a list of films with almost all their financial details. You can use it with our Financial Projections Template, allowing you to compare at least 3 comparable films to your film to do your own financial projections. This combo works great.Â
The Financial Projections service is done for you by professionals. It includes more detail, more accurate Investor ROI scenarios and has a third party (industry professional) endorsement on the outcomes.Â
Â
Â
Professional Financial Projections
- Choose 10 films similar to yours from our database.
- Your Production Budget as well as any Tax rebates and incentives.
- Your Preferred Investor Return Rate - the default is 20% but you can change it. In the standard model, the investor will receive 100% of revenue until they have recovered 100% of their investment, plus the preferred return rate. For example, with an investment of $1,000,000 and
a preferred return rate of 20%, the investor will receive all of the first $1,200,000 earned from the film by the production company (Investor Preferred Return). The default preferred return rate we use is 20%.
Â
Nash Info Services then takes your information and returns the attached two reports to you. This shows you and your investors:
1) Your projected movie revenues
2) How you propose to pay back your investors
3) Low, Medium and High Scenarios
Â
This is an essential piece of information you use to show your recoupment plan or distribution waterfall and it is a MUST in any business plan.Â
Â
You can send these professionally formatted and branded reports to your investors and copy/paste them into your business plan.Â
