We always enjoy a lot of the interviews given on Stage 32 and think it's an inspirational and informative platform for all filmmakers. We wanted to share one of their newer interviews, You Don't Need Hollywood's Permission (or Money) to Make a Movie!

 

PJ Woodside and her partner have been making their own low budget horror flicks for 9+ years and she shares how they did it on almost no budget, while building a fan base, distribution and a reputation.  

 

She highlights 7 things that were crucial to their success and they are valuable pieces of insight. You never know when just one nugget of info is going to change your path - a simple click or light bulb in the brain is often the difference between a film that is seen vs one that never sees the light of the day.

 

Of particular interest to us is the mention of needing "releases about nearly everything or risk getting sued. The people, the crew, the images, the locations, the music -- having rights to everything prevented lots of headaches down the road."
