Imagine your film is released and Forbes is interviewing you about how you pulled it all together. What will your quote be when being interviewed after you'd made your film?  If you think your quote is going to look something like these, think again: - I Googled "database of film investors" (there are so many high quality ones from which to choose) and sent some emails with spelling and grammar errors to
strangers with my idea for a potential script. They thought my ideas were so good, they just handed me $1M and told me not to even worry about paying them back.Â
- It was so easy to find financing. I went on a Facebook group (like this one: Movie Investors Worldwide), which always has film investors just lurking around
with their checkbooks ready. I posted "I'm working on a portfolio of Film/TV projects with A-List cast & crew. Serious inquiries from investors now being accepted," and the checks just came flooding in from serious investors. I had so much money leftover I donated some to the local animal shelter.Â

Hopefully, you see just how ridiculous those statements sound and those are stories you are never going to read! None of these methods will ever raise a dime in financing.  What you will read, however, are things like: - "I Sold My Wedding Rings to
Make a Movie" -Â Jim Cummings (Forbes)
- "Nobody would give us the money" -Â Martin Scorsese
- "It’s Been a Very, Very Long Road" - Ralph Fiennes
- “It was very, very hard to get financing for Precious.... Everybody kept saying no. My whole life was no. It was just a bunch of nos.” - Lee Daniels
We recently asked some of
you what was holding you back from financing your film.  Here's one answer we got, "I'm struggling of How to Raise more Fund without struggling"  Huh? Did this person really just say, "I want to finance my movie really easily without any struggle or sacrifice on my part?" Best of luck to you, buddy:)  You can alleviate the struggle by approaching financing the right way - by preparing for and learning about it. And you can make
sure the deck is stacked in your favor to reach out the right people with every word and document carefully scripted to maximize your chances of success. There is no reason to take the hard road when others have mapped out a successful path for you. Financing will never be easy...but it can be a WHOLE lot easier if you do some up front work and invest your time and resources correctly.  We received this just last week, "I'm really
grateful for joining "film proposals" and have used your materials to prepare our funding package. We will be funding our movie through a group in [country]! Once we have our funding in place (which should happen within the next 60 days), we will be in touch!
